India captain Virat Kohli said on Thursday that fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar is crucial to his plans for the T20 World Cup, which will be played in India later this year. “Bhubaneswar is really taking shape. Responding to an ANI query during a virtual press conference, Kohli said, “He is back, he is fit.
He said, “He has done a really good job of achieving perfect health and see that he is a smart operator, as we have seen in the past. He has continued to bring that experience into the field that will be important to us We have an understanding.
“He wants to contribute to winning many more Indians in the coming months. Naturally, in the T20 World Cup, we will need our most experienced bowler and anyone else in the world – in the beginning, in the middle and even in death.
“He is a guy you can put money on and I am very happy to have him back. Hopefully he can get ready from here and he is ready for the World Cup.
Asked if India will be selected for the T20 World Cup later this year, Kohli said: “I really think England will beat the team in the T20 World Cup, they are number one in the world . ” And this year the main focus will be on them in the World Cup.
“All the other teams have to be wary of the strength to bring them to the park and they will become favorites and how it thinks will not change without it.”
Jaspreet Bumrah and Mohammed Shamin have been rested for the series and T Natarajan seems to be suspicious of participating in the series.
