After a disastrous performance last season, the Chennai Super Kings made their IPL 2021 campaign debut against the Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday. After an exciting start to the tournament on Friday, the first weekend of the season promises to be another blockbuster, with MS Dhoni and Rishant Pant colliding. Encouraged by the prospect of two wicketkeepers clashing, Team India head coach Ravi Shastri wrote on Twitter, “Guru vs Chela. Will be a lot of fun today (will be a lot of fun tonight). Stump Mic suniyega zaroor (Listen to Stump Mike) #DhoniReturns #Pant # IPL2021 #DCvsCSK – @ChennaiIPL @DelhiCapicles ”.

Shastri in his tweet called the former Indian captain Guru (Guru) and Pant his disciple (disciple) and also requested fans to listen to the stump mic during the match.
Both Dhoni and Pant make a lot of noise behind the stumps as they try to help the bowlers. Dhoni’s focus is on discussing strategy with his bowlers, with Pant putting him in extra sparkle behind the stumps.

Excited to go up against his mentor in his opening match, Pant feels it will be his ‘good experience’ as he has done very well under MS Dhoni’s leadership. However, he also feels that it is equally important to use his experience and apply it to his game and is the second most successful side in the history of IPL.
My first match as a captain will be against Mahi (MS Dhoni) brother. It will be a good experience for me because I have learned a lot from them. “I have my own experience as a player … I take my experience and learn from MS Dhoni and try to do something different against CSK,” Pant was told in a press release in the Delhi capital.
