IPL 2021: Suresh Raina was “waiting impatiently” to join the Chennai Super Kings camp. | Latest News | Live Scores Today
Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina, who lost the Indian Premier League 2020, is “excited” to join the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) squad ahead of this year’s tournament. Raina missed the 13th edition of the Cash-Rich League after being ruled out of the tournament due to personal reasons. The star batsman has been a key player at CSK and in his absence the team had a disappointing performance in last year’s IPL. The Chennai franchise was ranked seventh in the IPL points table, but with the return of Raina, CSK would be set to win IPL 2021.

CSK on Wednesday shared a practice video of Raina, in which the batsman can be seen hitting all his trademark shots.

CSK tweeted, “Southeast! #China Thala – # WhistlePod Soon #Pal,” CSK tweeted.

Reacting to the video, Raina said, “Super excited and anxiously waiting for us to come to our nest.”

Meanwhile, CSK captain MS Dhoni has started preparations for the IPL season starting on 9 April.

Last week, CSK posted a video on Twitter in which Dhoni can be seen hitting the ball outside the park during the net session.

CSK will start the season against Delhi’s runners-up team at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 10 April.

Prior to the mini-auction, the Dhoni-led CSKA included Harbhajan Singh, Kedar Jadhav, Murali Vijay and Piyush Chawla in the squad.

Shane Watson, who retired after the IPL 2020 season, will also not be seen in action. Apart from the Australian Australian all-rounder, no foreign player was out of the team.
