Defending champions Mumbai Indians made a mixed start to their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 campaign, winning and losing the game so far. Five-time IPL champions will join Sunrisers Hyderabad, who are at the bottom of the IPL 2021 points table. Mumbai Indians bowlers led by leg-spinner Rahul Chahar beat KKR by 10 runs after a batting performance.
Suryakumar Yadav has scored the most consistent performance for Mumbai Indians in the first two matches with the batsman scoring over 30 runs in both matches. He was the top scorer for his team, when he scored 31 against RCB, and 51 from 36 balls against KKR as Mumbai competed overall. He is currently seventh in the list of leading scorers scoring 87 runs in two matches and the prospect of scoring a competitive total in Chennai is significant for the Mumbai Indians.
After a disappointing first game, Rohit Sharma gave a glimpse of his class as he hit a crucial innings of 43 off 32 balls in his second match. SRH captain David Warner and Rohit are the two top scorers in the IPL, currently ranked third and fourth respectively on the all-time scorer chart, scoring only 19 runs. A good comeback in Saturday’s clash will help Rohit to set another milestone in his already famous career.
Rahul’s face cast a spell on MI’s previous game against KKR as he took four decisive wickets in the match. Krunal Pandya stopped the flow of runs, but Rahul’s wicket activated the panic button in KKR’s camp and he lost after a dramatic batting. Rahul Chahar was unheard of as the tournament opener, but given his match-winning performances against KKR and Mumbai Indians, he is expected to continue the same magic wave against SRH.
